Losing a loved one is never easy, especially when the loss comes as the result of the negligence of another party. Families in Georgia who experience loss under similar circumstances may be left in search of answers or justice, but they might not be certain where to turn for guidance in achieving these goals. A family in another state has recently filed a negligent security lawsuit against a hotel resort after a shooting incident claimed the life of a 22-year-old man.

The incident is said to have occurred while the man was a paying guest at the resort. While many of the details pertaining to the incident remain unclear, reports indicate that he was shot and killed on the hotel grounds. Another person was also shot and injured in the incident while staying there as a guest of a hotel employee.

According to the lawsuit, the family claims that the hotel failed to take the necessary measures to provide guests with a safe environment. The lawsuit also asserts the hotel was aware of previous violent activity at the site and failed to increase security measures to address the issue. The victim’s family has since filed a lawsuit against the resort, accusing it of negligent security.

Negligent security continues to be a major concern, as for too many individuals have suffered harm or loss due to inadequate safety measures. Those who experience similar scenarios and wish to know more about their available legal avenues could find it helpful to speak with an attorney for advice in making informed choices about their situation. An attorney can examine the circumstances a client in Georgia is facing and assist him or her in preparing to pursue the full amount of compensation entitled through a negligent security claim.
