Sharp turns can be difficult to navigate under any circumstance and vehicles that are more difficult to maneuver must approach such areas with caution. Should a truck driver fail to adjust speed prior to attempting a sharp turn, the results could prove disastrous. A recent truck accident involving similar circumstances has reportedly claimed the life of the driver and left a passenger with serious injuries.

Authorities say they responded to reports of the crash just before 1 p.m. on a recent Tuesday. According to reports, the incident began when the driver of a tractor-trailer attempted to make a left turn onto a road that was listed as prohibited for such vehicles. The truck’s trailer is said to have detached soon thereafter, and the truck reportedly proceeded to veer off the side of the road before veering back across the lanes of traffic and overturning.

Emergency responders advised that the truck eventually came to a rest upside down and state that the two occupants were both trapped within the vehicle. They also advised that the driver of the truck was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. A passenger in the truck is said to have suffered severe injuries and was reportedly airlifted to a hospital for medical care.

When the presence of negligence is involved, a truck accident runs a greater risk of having catastrophic repercussions. Individuals who suffer severe harm due to the actions of a truck driver may wish to seek restitution accordingly, but they might need guidance on how best to approach the process. Following a similar experience, a person in Georgia could find it advisable to consult with a personal injury attorney for guidance in preparing to pursue the full amount of compensation to which he or she is entitled to receive.
